MAUBY

This is a non-alcoholic tree bark based beverage which is a favorite in many Barbadian homes.  The bark is boiled with aniseed, orange peel and cinnamon.  It is strained added to water and sweetened to taste.  A dash of angostura bitters and essence may be added for additional flavor.  Served over ice, this is a great thirst quencher.

 

 

 

 

SORREL

Sorrel is a drink mostly consumed around Christmas time as part of Barbadian Christmas tradition, but can be drank all year round.  It is made with dried sorrel (grown locally), cloves, orange zest and grated ginger.  These ingredients are steeped in hot water for approximately 48 hours and sweetened to taste.

 

 

 

BANKS BEER

Banks Beer is a legendary Caribbean beer celebrated all across the region.  The finest barley, galena and Styrian Goldings aroma hops are used in the brewing of this beer at Banks Breweries in Wildey, St. Michael.
